Green Deal Grant Scheme, What We Know So Far!
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that the government will support the British Economy with a £2 billion Green Homes Grant Scheme from September 2020.
Under this scheme, homeowners in England will be able to apply for green homes vouchers to pay for windows and doors that will improve the energy efficiency of the home. The £2 billion will be split accordingly:
£1 billion on Able to Pay market
£0.5 billion on Low Income (means-tested)
£0.5 billion on Social Housing
Glazing has been confirmed to be included within the Green Homes Grant Scheme. Full details are still to be announced, but so far we know that the vouchers will be available to replace old glazing with double glazing.
